Stringers and Layup Systems
With more than 20 years of experience Xcell Automation offers a highly-flexible line of stringers and layup systems used to interconnect solar cells into panels/modules.
Its state of the art factory in York, Pennsylvania, built the first tabber machine to solder automatically the ribbon onto the cells in 1996. At that time the company name was Ascor, which 4 year later, in 2000, become part of the Komax Group that provided the capital and global footprint necessary to be the market leader for solar cell stringing machines.
Believing in the long-term potential of solar energy, the management took over the business again in 2014 through the management buyout.

X3: the World's Most Advanced Stringer
The X3 represents the latest evolution of the Xcell family of stringers.
The Xcell X3 was designed with the user in mind to ensure the lowest possible cost of ownership in the industry and it is ready to process any solar cell with up to five busbars, PERC, p-type, n-type, bifacials and half-cells
A powerful and efficient induction soldering process ensures a reliable, repeatable, and controllable soldering process. With a high throughput of 1800 cell/hour or 50MW per stringer, a compact design enables reduced floor space and provides an expandable platform.
It easily integrates with various offloading/layup systems and is ideal for manufacturers looking to expand existing production lines, create new production lines, or transition to automatic module manufacturing.
Xcell also offers layup and inspection solutions to further enhance module manufacturing.
